MVHS offers research and reproduction services for patrons at reasonable rates.
To help those who cannot visit our research facility in person, we offer a research service. Staff will conduct research for patrons for the following schedule of fees:
$25.00/hour (First 15 min. free)
Free for MVHS Members\
Single Sided (all sizes) $.20/page
Double Sided (all sizes) $.30/page
Copies Sent to Patrons Via FAX
Transcription of Articles or Materials from the collections which may not be duplicated due to condition of the original will be charged per quarter hour at the rate of $6.25.
Our staff strives to answer all queries in a timely manner and at the same time serve patrons who chose to visit our site. Whether your request is genealogical, historical or general in nature we pride ourselves on providing all the information and assistance possible. We may be reached via mail, telephone, fax, e-mail, or in person.
- Research inquiries are done in order of receipt.
- Backlogs of several weeks may occur during periods of high volumes of research and duplication requests.
- Please ask about waiting periods when making a research inquiry.
Patrons may purchase photocopied duplicates of items within the collection that are not copyright restricted or too fragile for duplication. Photographic duplication is also available.
Commercial Publication – Requests for commercial publication of images of artifacts and materials from the collections of MVHS will be governed by MVHS Regulations. Royalty fees may apply.
Copyright Notice – reproduction of all materials is governed by copyright laws and MVHS Regulations. Use of materials and information provided by MVHS must be credited to the Mahoning Valley Historical Society.
Patrons are welcome to bring their own laptop computers for note taking. Personal scanners are not permitted. Personal camera usage is available by prior arrangement with MVHS. Patrons who are interested in this option are asked to fill out our Camera Use Policy Form and submit it. Some restrictions may apply.
Patrons will be asked to limit their baggage. Use of pencil only is expected.
