MVHS Annual Fund

On September 10, 1875, a group of prominent citizens came together to share the “history and reminiscences of the olden times.” A call went out for membership in the newly formed Mahoning Valley Historical Society, and 400 citizens signed up. In the membership were many names we know such as Wick, Tod, McMillan, Powers, Stambaugh, Butler and McKelvey. Volney Rogers, founder of Mill Creek Park joined, as well as Isaac Strouss and Bernard Hirshberg. Their membership fee of $1 each helped support the new society.

You can pay tribute to those early historians with a gift to the MVHS annual fund. Your support provides educational programs and resources, and helps us preserve and protect the rich history of the Mahoning Valley for generations to come.

Memberships, admission fees and rental income that support MVHS helps cover our operating costs and daily maintenance of our facilities. To survive and grow, we rely on the generosity of individuals, businesses and foundations. Your gift will be used where it is needed most.
