My Town, Your Town, Youngstown Summer Day Camp 2017!

July 10 – 14, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm each day
Best suited for ages 8 – 12
Cost – $100 MVHS Members     $125 – Non MVHS Members

Celebrate the history and culture of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley! New Events and Field Trip Destinations! This five day camp will explore more than 10,000 years of history as we discover the people and events that helped to shape the Mahoning Valley. Participants will explore aspects of Youngstown history, from the first inhabitants through the pioneer settlement, the rise and fall of the iron and steel industries, and the emergence of Youngstown as a cultural and business center. Field trips to area landmarks, immersive activities, and a focus on Youngstown Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow highlight the week.

Young Historians Summer Day Camp 2017

July 24 – 28, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm each day
Best suited for ages 12 – 15
Cost – $100 MVHS Members $125 – Non MVHS Members

Are you creative? Do you love history? Explore history like a true historian! Are you looking for something a little bit more in depth? This five day camp dives deeper into local history as participants work like true historians. Participants will explore the MVHS archival collections to dig into the fascinating people, places, and legacies that surround us each day. Participants will work closely together to not only research the history but also present those stories to the public through videos, blog posts, or small exhibits.
