There are a variety of ways to get involved in preserving Mahoning Valley History. We hope that you are already involved as a Member of the Historical Society, but there are many opportunities to support the Society through advisory committees, volunteer opportunities, and community partnerships.
We always appreciate enthusiastic, diligent volunteers with a passion for local history. Since 1875, the Mahoning Valley Historical Society’s commitment to the education, collection, and preservation of the heritage of the local community has inspired people to get involved in ongoing projects and programs. Volunteers are the backbone of any non-profit organization and your participation in our mission is a vital part of our success. Welcome to the Mahoning Valley’s premier local history center as we continue to provide inspiration through heritage!
The Young Leader’s Advisory Board assists the Mahoning Valley Historical Society in developing a membership base focused on those aged 21-50. The goal is to engage a new generation within the community; increase general awareness of the MVHS; increase participation in MVHS activities, events, and programs; and develop a future leadership of the Society. The group meets once a month and plans the annual History to Go lecture series and a fundraising event.
Become a Member to learn about the Valley’s rich history, strengthen your connection to the community, and help us fulfill our mission to celebrate the history of the Mahoning Valley’s people. Members enjoy many benefits including unlimited admission during the year and discounts on programs and special events.
