Bites & Bits of History: Art and the American Presidency

September 19 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Free

Mahoning Valley Historical Society will present “Art and the American Presidency” as the featured Bites and Bits of History Lunch Program at Noon on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at the Tyler History Center in Downtown Youngstown. The main speaker will be Dr. Lou Zona, Director of the Butler Institute of American Art.

Dr. Zona will speak to the relationships many U.S. Presidents had with art and artists. In anticipation of the Butler’s centennial anniversary, MVHS will recognize this celebration and invite Dr. Zona to reflect on this milestone within the Mahoning Valley’s cultural history.

Bites and Bits of History Lunch Programs are offered every third Thursday of the month. The program is free and attendees may bring their own lunch. The Tyler History Center doors open at 11:30 A.M. In addition to ample street parking nearby, an adjacent public lot on the west side of the building is available and costs $2.50. The Tyler History Center is located at 325 W. Federal St.
