Calling All Cars: A History of the Youngstown Police Department

Calling All Cars: A History of the Youngstown Police Department is now open at the Tyler History Center and features artifacts from the YPD, private collectors, and the historical society’s collection of historical materials. MVHS staff worked with a committee of current and retired police personnel to tell the story of local law enforcement from the beginning of the 19th Century through the present. The exhibit features an array of images and documents as well as uniforms and badges, gear and equipment, police vehicle parts, and more.

 

The Tyler History Center, at 325 West Federal Street in downtown Youngstown is open Tuesday-Sunday from Noon to 4:00 p.m.  Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for senior citizens and $2 for children, and includes a same day visit to the Arms Family Museum.
