Campaign Funding Objectives

The Campaign for the Mahoning Valley History Center with a goal of $6 million, will make possible the creation of the new History Center by restoring the landmark Burt Building in the heart of Youngstown's emerging Arts & Entertainment District.

The History Center will welcome visitors and provide much needed amenities and exhibit space to enhance the Historical Society's ability to share its extraordinary collections.  In addition to compelling new exhibits to showcase the premanent collections of the Historical Society, the new History Center will host traveling exhibitiions, special events, and classes - all essential to offering engaging programming to interpret the story of this historically significant valley.

The opening of the History Center will allow the Historical Society to develop new restoration and interpretation plans for Greystone and the Arms Family Museum of Local History. The Carriage House will provide ideal space for the Business & Media Archives - this will allow not only appropriate storage space, but ease of public access for this popular treasure.
